Brenda Kinsler, Staff Attorney

Brenda L. Kinsler joined the Supreme Court of Texas Permanent Judicial Commission for Children, Youth, and Families in December 2024.  She formerly served as a Regional Managing Attorney for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). 

Previously, Brenda served six years an appellate attorney for DFPS and has represented the Department as an Assistant County and District Attorney in Henderson County and Ellis County.  In addition to her work in Texas, she served as a regional attorney for the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, where she represented the Cabinet in child welfare related matters. 

Brenda received her juris doctorate from the South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.  She is a member of the inaugural class of attorneys to receive the Board Certification in Child Welfare Law and serves on the Child Welfare Law Exam Commission.
